When I talk about investing with my children and friends, I like to use an analogy of my own. I believe it was my Wing Chun teacher who told me once: "It is easy to hit, while it's hard not to get hit. Defense is more important than attacking your opponent". And so, I try to "defend" my portfolio while still earning excellent returns. Avoiding getting knocked out should be number one priority for every investor or even speculator.
